Impress your guests with this beautiful rose-shaped dessert made with lots of soft and delicious apple slices, wrapped in sweet and crispy puff pastry.
Makes 6 roses
Cut apples in half (lengthwise), remove the cores, and then slice thin (widthwise).
Fill bowl half-full with water, added lemon juice from squeezed lemon, add sliced apples, microwave 3 minutes, and drain out water.
Add 2 tablespoons of water to apricot preserve in small bowl, microwave 1 minute, and mix thoroughly.
Unwrap thawed puff pastry, flour and stretch (lengthwise) with roller, cut in 6 strips (widthwise), spread each strip with preserve, place apple slices on one side (lengthwise) of each strip so they overlap with the inner parts of each slice towards the middle of the strip, sprinkle with cinnamon, fold dough in half, roll strip up.
Place all 6 in cupcake tray and bake at 375 degrees F for 40-45 minutes.
Optionally sprinkle with powdered sugar.
