Anax'yiltoras'davntal, or Toras, is a relatively athletic looking gnome. He stands a solid 3" taller than many of his brethren and carries at least a one-thirds stone on them. He has wild red hair that is the color of indian paintbrush, and ruddy brown skin, much like a fall maple leaf. He typically wears a set of pants and shirt that are teaming with little pockets and loops to hold his favorite trinkets. He has a dashing black hat that is broad-rimmed and adorned with a scarlet macaw's feather that matches his cloak.
Overall, Toras, is quite restrained (for a gnome), having learned the value of patience and consideration in an alchemists lab. However, for many of the larger (and slower) folk, he still comes off as a touch rash and impulsive. He is boisterous and outgoing, and determined to suck enough adventure out of life to stave off the bleaching. He firmly believes in the wonders of mechanics and alchemy and is fond of saying that "levers and explosives are the great equalizers". He is also keen to learn to play the lute and wants to develop both a self-playing barrel drum lute and a repeating, revolver, crossbow. (He is sorely convinced that a revolving mechanism is the key to minimizing the frequency with which repeating crossbows jam.)

Anaxa'yiltoras'davntal's Story
May I please introduce myself, I am Anaxa'yiltoras'davntal, although you may call me Toras. I am a journeyman alchemist and I believe that I can help your cause. Please allow me to tell you a little bit about myself.
Toras grew up in the gnome city of Brastlewark, which resides in the borders of Cheliax. As typical of gnomish youths he was raised by his parents when they were together and around, but mostly he was raised by a smaller community of gnomes within the city. His father, Epiktetos, was a gifted and successful alchemist, and he was delighted that his son showed the same talent for the arcane arts. He school Toras on the finer points of alchemy both the brewing and the business; when Toras' apprenticeship came to an end, his father graced him with a fine alchemical lab and some money to start his own business. However, Toras had watched his father start to wither and fade under the doldrums of day to day commerce, and he yearned for something more before settling down as a journeyman with another master alchemist in the city. Given that his fortunes for adventure in Brastlewark, and as he was now of age, he struck out on his own to make his fortune and find some vivid adventures that would stave off the Bleaching that he had seen consume so many within his community.
The sordid tales of Westcrown that made their way to Brastlewark enticed Toras to seek adventure there. As a budding alchemist, he found ample desires for his talents, although the business of potions and poisons was cutthroat and demanded a certain level of discretion that many believed was beyond a gnome. With his patients (and disposable income) running out, and the stereotype of a flighty gnome making it all but impossible to complete his training with taller folk, Toras was beginning to get agitated.
Finally, a fellow fae introduced him to a minor noble family that could make use of his services. While this solved his immediate financial needs, they family was stifling conservative (and discrete), and thus sequestered him within their compound, thus depriving him of the very excitement that he so craved. Spurred by isolation, he started to reach out to the underground community, looking for something to stoke the fires of his blood. In these pursuits, he stumbled across the resistance and thought that it would be a grand idea to mix up the daily humdrum that was the average, oppressive life here in Westcrown.
His involvement with the resistance was short-lived as the family that he worked for noticed his odd comings and goings, and quickly took to following him. The house spy-master tracked his movements to the budding resistance and linked him to the ring leader Ariel. Rather than risk a scandal for the house, the spy-master arranged for Toras to be taken into custody in the same raid that captured Ariel, and he found himself locked in a carriage on a one-way trip to Citadel Rivad. Knowing that none other than his former benefactor had been responsible for is incarceration, Toras is keen to even the score… and he still thinks that it would be grand fun to throw the whole city into revolution.
Current Activity
When Toras arrived in Westcrown he came with the alchemist's lab from his father, and enough capital to establish his credentials in a masters shop. Quickly identifying the undercurrents of the city life, he placed the chest of his prized possessions and most of his assets in hands of several gnomish moneylenders in the city. He then purchased a field kit while he sought employment, and has yet to bring his prized possessions out of their safe places.
