Ren's Personality
Ren is a rather easily pleased individual, mostly because he doesn't have much for himself to be pleased about. Despite being from a relatively wealthy family, he is entirely broke, and has been for long enough that he feels constant pangs of hunger. He does not have much means to acquire money, but when he does he often spends it away without hesitation for finer foods and drinks for himself and his friends. Ren simply doesn't put much forethought into surviving through the next day. If any of the seven sins were for Ren it would be sloth, he is a procrastinator who would not lift a finger to learn a common trade or chore. His daily activities can be summarized as an unplanned wandering journey of helping people in obvious need.
Among minor peeves for Ren is calling him by his full name and any waste of food or drink, among his eccentricities, he occasionally holds conversations with inanimate objects, mostly his sword, Ambess.
Ren's Background
Ren, properly Orenthal Conraoi, was born the son of an actor and they both were the client to the house Rosala. As wealth declined and tensions rose, after a falling out his family lost patronage and they were ejected from the noble circles. After this, Ren simply left, claiming he'd find a better life elsewhere he headed north to the desolation of Dragon Jaw mountain, and for a year he wasn't seen. During this time most of his remaining family left the city to continue their lives as performers for more amiable nobility who had not heard of their misdeeds. The remaining family was centered on Ren's sister, Jenniver, who maintained a minor inheritance and was working to reestablish the family name. After a year of absence, Ren returned from the desert, gaunt, scorched by the sun, and having survived exposure to the world for a year, he wore tattered clothes and skins, carrying with him only an obsidian sword and an old cracked tome. After some time, he had met with his sister, and after hearing the full extent of their loss he left to the streets determined to survive anew.
